Certainly there is a deficit in knowledge of one another in the Union. For me it is the solution to mean, that all Europeans should know English as their second language. But recently I found out, that in a French University in Paris almost all of the co-workers of the institute did not know English. And France is closer to England than it is Austria. Another problem for me is, that there is no noticable common European idea, which is defining the European identity in the consciousness of the people and many people want out from the Union. Another problem is the big lassitude of 250 million people to execute any needy and desirable political project or any action of further integration. But one thing is coming, which makes me a bit more optimistic: It is the introduction of the Euro cash in January next year.
